I support the movement towards change in our community by doing and promoting anti-racism work. I stand in solidarity with protestors, healers, and community members advocating for justice. I believe that Black Lives Matter. I also recognize that racism in America extends far deeper than police brutality and the most recent unnecessary deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and countless others. While I, as a clinician, work to be inclusive and supportive of my clients, I also recognize that simply providing a safe space is not enough. I am committed to continued activism, learning, listening, and educating in honor of my past, present, and future clients.

Insurance and Payment

All co-pays, co-insurances, deductibles, and other account balances are due at the time of service unless other arrangements are made in advance. I accept cash, check, and Ivy Pay. There is an additional $25 fee if a check is returned for non-sufficient funds.

Insurance:

If you have health insurance and/or a third-party payer, it will usually provide some coverage for mental health services. You are responsible for payment of the full cost of services if your insurance does not cover your services.

As a courtesy, I will have my Claim’s Manger research your benefits prior to beginning services. She will provide you with the most comprehensive information your insurance company quotes regarding mental health services covered under your policy, as well as what deductibles, co-insurances and co-pays may apply. You are responsible for confirming this information.

Your health insurance company and/or a third-party payer may require that I provide them with information about your diagnosis, treatment plan, and your attendance in therapy sessions. It is rare, but they may require a copy of your entire treatment record. If you are using insurance and/or third-party payer, you acknowledge this and you agree to allow these disclosures.

I am in-network with the following insurance companies:

  • Regence
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • UNI-BHN
  • Optum/UMR (United Behavioral Health)
  • EMI
  • Select Health
  • Providence

Coverage:

Health insurance companies will not pay for missed sessions, nor will they pay for telephone calls, reports, letters, or interactions with attorneys and others. You are solely responsible for payment for these services.

Phone calls outside of scheduled sessions:

You will be charged in quarter-hour increments for telephone calls to discuss issues or concerns between sessions. The same will be true for any telephone interactions with attorneys, physicians, and others on your behalf, and for any reports and letters you may request me to write on your behalf. This fee is based on my Individual Therapy rate of $150 an hour. You are expected to pay these extra costs at our next session unless specific arrangements are made with me.

Missed and late-canceled sessions:

Missed and late-canceled sessions pose financial issues for both of us. I hold your scheduled appointment time specifically for you and it is extremely difficult for me to fill your last-minute canceled session on a short notice. If you are unable to attend a scheduled session, please notify me 24 hours prior to your appointment to avoid being charged an $80.00 session fee. This fee is not meant to be punitive, only a budgetary consideration on my end.

***Should I need to cancel your session for any reason, you will not be charged.***

Don’t ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and go do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.
